The sandbox™ and other stuff
Below you'll find a list of some of my less serious (i.e. technical), but still important works, alongside other unrelated stuff I have to store somewhere.
- "Guanabara S/A (O Cabresto)" (en: Guanabara Inc.) — This is, surprisingly, a serious story. Basically: two brothers and a friend end up joining a childhood friend's political campaign and when he wins, they have to deal with the consequences of their involvement in it. Does something here make sense? Hard to know. All we know is that what happens in Rio, stays in Rio.
- Further listening: the 20-song soundtrack I used as inspiration for when I was proofreading the story. Of the 20 songs, about 9 are in Portuguese, 1 is in French (but sang by a Brazilian singer), and the remaining 10 are in English. I'd recommend listening to it — there's a good mix of songs here, most of which are somewhat linked to the story's plot. Tip: best downloaded and played in .flac format.
- "Então Você Acredita Em Milagres..." (en: So You Believe In Miracles...) — This is actually a funny story that needs some additional info from me. In the past, I especially liked watching this Brazilian YouTube channel named TazerCraft, a duo who made several Minecraft series, including one that became known as "Fuga Impossível" (Impossible Escape). This series, which was actually pretty influential for the year it was released (2015), got a revival when its backstory was essentially canonized on "QSMP" (the Quackity SMP), which may not have the best community, but has a community nonetheless.
Lacking familiarity with part of the QSMP cast team, I decided to do an Impossible Escape-themed oneshot. Due to some positive comments I received, a couple of months later I made it a full-fledged story, and people also liked it! It's in Portuguese, so I strongly encourage you to translate it using an external translator (such as DeepL) so you get less confused.- Further listening: the 18-song soundtrack I used as inspiration for writing the story. Good stuff here, really — it's a mix of sweet Portuguese songs and more sour international ones. Tip: best downloaded and played in .flac format.
- "Ainda Há Vida Lá Fora" (en: There's Still Life Out There) — Technically happening a couple of months after the story above. This was part of a Secret Santa contest and, although I'm not extremely proud of it, the user who I gifted this too seemed to like it!
- "What is Hard to Brie-Lieve" — You know Façade, the 2000s game? Although the game has been known more recently for more melon-y stuff, it's a fun game to play every now and then. I gathered one of the screenplays I had (one of the longest, too) and attempted to make a story out of it. It's not bad, I guess, but it's more experimental than anything.
This is still a work in progress. I might finish this someday. Maybe.
